Fall In Love With Yourself This Valentine’s day

Valentine’s Day was originated back in the 8th century and is celebrated worldwide annually on 14th February. Throughout the centuries this day has become associated with love. But while, for most love birds this day is all about dates and gifts and flowers, for some it’s irrelevant and for some it’s even bittersweet.

So, if you are someone like us, for whom Valentines’ Day is just like any other day, let’s celebrate a different Valentine’s Day this year by falling in love with ourselves all over again. And if you are someone who has got loads of plan with your bae, let’s fall in love with yourself first. Because you can only love someone more when you are the best version of yourself.

Here Are 8 Ways To Practise Self Love This Valentine’s Day And Every Other Day:

Practice Self-Care:

Taking care of your physical and emotional needs is a key aspect of self-love. Make time for activities that bring you joy.  It can be a relaxing bath, a walk in nature, or a favorite hobby. As for me, skincare is my form of my self-care and self-love. Standing in front of the mirror and taking care of the largest organ in my body has done things to my mental health that even medications couldn’t.
Find something that makes you feel good about yourself, something that makes you fall in love with yourself every day.

Challenge Negative Self Talk:

We all have inner critics that can be harsh and judgmental. Practice noticing negative self-talk and reframe it with positive affirmations.

Forgive yourself:

We all make mistakes, and it’s important to learn from them and move on. Practice self-compassion and forgive yourself for past mistakes.

Set healthy boundaries:

Saying ‘NO’ to things that don’t align with your values or that drain your energy is a form of self-love. Start by setting healthy boundaries and honor your needs.

Surround yourself with positivity:

Spend time with people who uplift and support you. Surround yourself with positive people and influences. Listen to motivational podcasts, read an inspiring book or watch a motivational movie. One of my feel good movie is ‘The Intern’. It gives me a boost of positivity amidst the chaos.

Keep A Journal

“Journaling is mindfulness in motion”. It can help release stress, align your thoughts and fill you with positive vibes. Maintaining a journal is like checking in with yourself. It uplifts the mood and helps you process your emotions.
Investing in a good journal can be a boon for you as they can boost your overall productivity and make your life organized.

Lift Your Mood With An Uplifting Fragrance

Fragrance and ambiance plays a crucial role in lifting up your mood and make you feel good. Enhance the vibe of your surrounding by lighting a perfumed candles, or an incense, or maybe wear a good perfume. You have no idea what a little hint of scent can do to your mood!

Own Your Sexuality

Learning about your body and being confident about your sexual inclinations and preferences is one of the most fulfilling things you can do to yourself. There’s no shame in having certain preferences or even kinks. Explore your identity as a sexual being. Embrace the fact that you are entitled to pleasures and sexual experiences that enhances you.

Remember that falling in love with yourself is an ongoing process. Be patient and kind to yourself, and keep working towards a positive self-image and a healthy sense of self-worth.
